😔 · Smileys & Emotion › Sleepy faces · Emoji 0.6 (2010)
😔 is a face with its eyes closed and looking down, its mouth in a small flat frown.
It's a quiet kind of sad: disappointed, regretful, a bit down, or lost in thought. It's softer than 😢 and often used half-jokingly, for small letdowns like a cancelled plan or an empty fridge.
