🤣 is a laughing face tipped over on its side, tears flying, as if it just fell off its chair. It's the old internet shorthand ROFL, rolling on the floor laughing, turned into a picture.
It sits one notch above 😂. People use it when something is properly hilarious, or to make their own joke land a little louder. You'll often see it right next to 😂, and like its cousin it can feel a bit dated to younger users, who'd reach for 💀 or 😭 instead.
